Application of Information Technology in Human Resource Management Functions

The 21st century arrived to find a knowledge economy in full swing. This exciting new marketplace rides unquestionably on human talent. Human capital costs can represent up to 70 percent of the operating expense of an organization. The only way we can manage this is through disciplined and dynamic processes of Human Resource Management supported by reliable Information Technology.

Management of expensive human assets demands an understanding of the linkages between the actions of the human resources function, the processes within the operating units, and their eventual contribution to corporate goals.

Monitoring, measuring, and evaluating the effects of human resources' activity and the “value add” of human capital are complex matters. This complexity makes the creation of value propositions for HR programs a daunting task.
