Every organization whether big or small requires an inventory management system – in fact, inventory is not only one of a company’s most crucial areas, it is also one of the most underestimated. Correctly analyzing and controlling inventory can yield tremendous benefits to an organization.
eHorizon Inventory is a supply chain inventory management tool that is designed to increase operational efficiencies by streamlining material movement while providing tight material control.

eHorizon Inventory is part of the eHorizon ERP, an integrated set of applications, which is designed to transform your business to a strategic force in today’s fast-moving corporate arena.
Increase Operational Efficiency
eHorizon Inventory offers a number of features designed to help improve efficiencies of material movement.
- Enterprise Wide Item Master - The system provides an enterprise wide item master that allows an item to have different characteristics depending on the store. Therefore, an item created at store level with a single identity, can have changing characteristics depending on which store it belongs to.
- Four Tier Organization Model - The system can capture any kind of organizational requirement: the enterprise comes at the top of the hierarchy, followed by the registered companies, unlimited departments and unlimited stores. Two further levels also exist: sub-stores and locators. Locators, though similar to the traditional bins and racks, provide extended functionality.
- Global Document Management - eHorizon Inventory allows for various document types such as Goods Receipt Note and Goods Issue Note among many others. These are managed at the global level, but “user rights” allow them to be mapped to each store level.
- Flexibility of Security - The system allows for two levels of security: low and high. Most organizations begin with the security set to low. Thereafter, the organization gains familiarity the user rights scenario and gradually builds a good user rights system, before switching to high security. The user rights system ensures four-dimensional security: it allows the organization to define user rights against each organization unit, each activity-type and provides 5 facets to each activity.
- Goods Receipt - The Goods Receipt feature allows the organization to receive goods either from suppliers, other stores or other departments. Goods can be received into stores and the rate specified by the Store Keeper. The goods can be lot or serial controlled, and they can received directly into sub stores or locators within the store. Furthermore, since the system allows the user to define their own document names, they will not feel they have been brought to an unfamiliar platform – they will be using document names which they are comfortable with.
- Goods Issue - This feature allows the organization to issue goods to any valid entity; the goods can either be issued directly or against a valid requisition. Goods can also be issued against a reservation. The system takes care of the rate at which the goods were received. The goods can also be issued as lot or serial controlled. Furthermore, the system ensures that the items which are issued are in stock and whether or not they have been reserved for the correct organization.
- Receipt Returns - Receipt returns can only be created against valid and approved receipts, and the cumulative receipt returns can only be equal to or less than the receipt.
- Issue Return - In the event that the receiving department, store or party wants to return goods, the Issue Return form facilitates its creation.
- Pricing Methodology - Currently the system supports Weighted Average Method of Valuation.
- Auto Issue - Auto Issue allows you to define your regular issues so that the issues take place without any user intervention. If there is not enough stock then the system stops the issue document at creation stage itself.
- Reservation - The system allows departments to reserve goods, which they may require at a later date. In addition, by allowing the user to define an “expiry-date” for the reservation, the system can automatically release the un-issued reserved stock upon this date for general consumption.
- User Definable Labels - User-definable labels will ensure that users can actually see the application using terms which they are comfortable with.
- User Definable Profiles - The whole application is profile driven, with each profile determining how the application will function. Most of the profiles are definable by the administrator, though some are reserved for developers.
- Auto Setup of Locators - If a company has a hundreds of locators (like bins and racks), and if the client maintains stocks across locators, Auto-Setup of Locators allows for quick and hassle-free definition of multiple locators.
- Auto-Numbering of Documents - The Auto-Numbering facility applies to certain document types (soon to become ALL document types).
- ABC Analysis - The system allows the user to grade and report on items based on the classification of ‘A’, ’B’ or ‘C’ items.
